Did they deserve it? Most of them, probably. Next best nonlethal device would have been chemical spray, except that enough of those situations were in confined spaces or among bystanders. Next best nonlethal tactic would have been to dogpile them, and Mr. Wizard was a prime candidate for this. Looks bad, but would've prevented his Tasering.
