According to [Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine's Washington contributing editor], Biden "said a young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment."So, in an effort to snap on the previous Veep, the current Veep -- and Clift, while she's at it -- revealed secrets related to executive protection. I'm sure the Secret Service will be happy to know that when the chips aren't even down that Crazy Uncle Joe can't be relied upon to button his lip. The writers of 24 SO need to add such a Veep character: flapjawed for no good reason, followed by a stampede of plots just lining up outside NOOC FTW.
Clift continued: "The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn't be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall."
