MUNI has a lesson for Caltrans?

Rome wasn't built in a day, but it's possible to pick up and put down $3 million dollars of light rail tracks in 4 days (which you can watch in about 13 minutes).

Church and 30th St. San Francisco MUNI Construction from Ken Murphy on Vimeo.

So, Caltrans...where's that bridge of yours? It only took the original about 3.5 years, but it'll take you at least 11. Way to FAIL at efficiency.

Breakfast Granola for 9/9/10

I'd been hunting for a high-resolution image of the poster inside my "Hey Olivia!" magazine when it occurred to me: If I flatten it enough and stick it to the kitchen wall with poster putty, I should be able to photograph it, then Photoshop down the folds and wrinkles.

Behold my awesome! New wallpaper coming soon!

Objects in screen may be larger than they appear

FMD Crankmonkey unearthed a strange ore (pictured), and wondered if it was P'shop witchcraft.

Perhaps, but perhaps not. I think it could be a flipped negative (note "yrlewej" sign in background) of Jaime Koeppe, shot from a sufficiently low angle that helps foreshorten her upper body to make her Great White Bubbleass prominent.

Googlehunt her and decide. If it's a shoop of Jaime, I don't think it's by much. She puts the "culo" in ridiculous.

Crankmonkey's questionable ore was struck on Double Viking.

New Canon t1i Shoots HD Video

Canon EOS Rebel T1i First Hands On: 50D's Sensor, 1080p Vids, $899 (!!)
Canon has crammed the $1500 50D's sensor and 5D-Mark-II-like 1080p video capture into an $899 entry-level Rebel. We ran it through its paces for a few hours, and it's awesome.
